The problem

The team was deploying several services by hand, which made releases slow and risky: every deploy depended on someone remembering the right steps, and nothing stopped untested code from reaching production.

What I did

  • Containerised each microservice with Docker so it builds and runs the same way in CI and in production.
  • Built GitHub Actions workflows with automated test stages that run on every push.
  • Set up deployment to production triggered by a Git push once the tests pass.
  • Connected Sentry so errors in production are reported to the team.

Result

Releases went from manual steps to an automated build, test and deploy pipeline, with production errors monitored. The project was one of the larger engagements in the portfolio and received a 5-star review.
